Thirty Five years ago Jim Allen had a drive to develop his vision of a perfect tackle store based on a tradition of excellence. Today that vision is most certainly a reality with a series of individual Compleat Angler stores in Melbourne and Sydney.
Jim's dream became part reality back in 1967 when with Bob Roles he opened the first specialist tackle shop in Melbourne. In those early days the Compleat Angler soon became the hub for the serious anglers of Melbourne and surrounding districts.
The business philosophy of the 'Angler' is, to cater for all anglers and to provide the very best in quality tackle from all points of the globe, by committed knowledgeable staff who specialise in various angling fields themselves. Over the last two decades the Compleat Angler has been in the forefront in the introduction of new and innovative tackle.
